Black Wall Street Gallery Reopens In Tulsa

The Black Wall Street Gallery reopened on Monday after being closed for several weeks due to COVID-19.

The gallery is taking extra steps to keep the space safe like requiring masks and observing social distancing.

The re-opening coincides with Sunday's 99th anniversary of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.

Curator Dr. Ricco Wright says it's a great space to learn about black culture.

"Black Wall Street Gallery is a very intentionally curated space because here we preserve black culture and we want people to come in to learn about black culture and go away knowing that they've learned something that they can celebrate," said Dr. Wright.

For now Dr. Wright is offering 1-hour tours by appointment only.
