Oklahoma State University President Burns Hargis is set to make a special announcement Friday during a board of regents meeting, the university said in a press release Thursday.

Hargis is reportedly going to announce his retirement from the university, the O’Colly reports. The retirement would go into effect July 1.

Hargis will have served as OSU’s president for 13 years. 

The meeting will take place at The McKnight Center for the Performing Arts on the Stillwater campus.
