Sand Springs Seeks Community Input With Survey

The City of Sand Springs is encouraging people to take part in a survey to get input from the community. All of the responses will be collected and considered for future planning.

City Planner Brad Bates told News On 6 that the survey just became available this week and already has more than 200 responses. Of those submitted responses, Bates said some complimented the city while others requested new additions like a community pool or more stores.

Bates said the survey helps the city government get a feel for the areas they need to bring attention to.

“This really allows us to engage the masses and kind of get a collective vision on where the city should go or where our citizens think we should go,” said Bates. “Then we provide that information to our department heads and our council and that allows them to create goals and action plans for where we need to move in the future.”

A similar survey was last offered in 2015. Through the responses, the city was able to add new trees and restaurants that were highly requested.
